Jewellery is designed to be worn. However it is best to avoid certain tasks whilst wearing jewellery, especially those that contain harsh chemicals, like bleach, cleaning products, moisturisers, and chlorine. Take care while swimming, gardening, gym/exercise, lifting and sleeping.
Silver / Gold / Platinum Jewellery: Use a polishing cloth to maintain shine and remove surface marks.
Pearls: Avoid water, soaps, perfume, cream and lotions as these can damage the nacre or outer layer of the pearl. Wipe gently clean with a dry cloth, after wear. Pearls are strung typically on silk or glued into their settings. So avoid steam, showers, saunas.
Diamonds and most hard Gemstones: Clean with a soft toothbrush with mild liquid soap in warm water. Do not use chemical solutions or hot water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. This method is not suitable for pearls, opals, turquoise, amber, onyx or coral.
Stone settings: Fine claws will wear over time and regular checks are recommended to prevent stone loss.
